There is a lot of hype surrounding Anti-Aging and the many related products offered today. Dr. Drago knows the importance of Anti-Aging and places great emphasis on guiding his patients throughout the aging process. He is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and received the honorable selection of being the Top Anti-Aging Physician for 2006. To further support his patients, he has written a book, The Keys: A Guide to Wellness and Anti-Aging, as well as produced specially formulated vitamins designed to help you look younger, feel better, and enhance weight loss.
See how you too can look better, feel younger, and enhance weight loss! In order to truly “slow” or “manage” your aging process, Dr. Drago recommends you start by considering these three rules: 1. Lifestyle: In today’s fast paced world, most of us push our bodies to the limit. How you manage your intake of food, adequate rest and exercise can make a substantial impact on your overall health and aging process. For example, your immune system begins its work building cells to fight off disease and rebuilding tissue as you sleep each night. A disturbed sleep cycle or lack of sleep hours, can essentially rob you of energy and can actually shorten your life span! It is critically important for you to sleep at least 7-8 hours per night. If at all possible, the sleep should be obtained between 10 pm and 5 am. Certain chemicals are released during this time. It is important to let your body repair itself during sleep. Regardless of gender, make a point to moisturize your face with a lotion containing SPF 15 or higher. The moisturizer guards against the dry, dull skin that is more likely to develop premature wrinkles as well as protects your face from the damages of UV rays. You may think it's easier and more convient to pick up a fast food meal for lunch every day, but your body won't thank you for it. Resist weight gain, high blood pressure, and increased cholesterol by introducing heart-healthy foods into your diet. Consider swapping your donut for a fruit salad with low-fat yogurt and your burger with lean chicken or fish and a salad. These simple, small changes will give you, more energy, a smaller figure, while decreasing your chances of disease. Water is the most important thing that we can put in our bodies. Each person should drink ½ ounce of water per pound of body weight daily. If you are exercising, or performing strenuous outdoor activity, your water need increases. Drinking enough water per day will improve your memory, fight against irritability, help you think more sharply, ward off disease, ease joint and back pain, and enhance the health and glow of your skin. By replenishing the moisture that is lost throughout the day is critical to your short and long term health. The only safe tobacco smoke is the tobacco smoke that you are not inhaling. Tobacco is filled with hundreds of chemicals that cause cancer. Even some of the additives are known to be carcinogenic. 3. Exercise: Exercise doesn't just help you lose weight. A physically active lifestyle has also been linked to an increase of HDL (“good”) cholesterol, lowered blood pressure, an improved mood and less chance of depression, higher bone density, stabilized blood sugar levels, and a boosted immune system. Each of these benefits are counteracted by the aging process. Just thirty minutes of exercise a day, three times a week, will help your body fight the natural aging process. There are essentially 3 types of exercise: #1 – Weight lifting, #2 – Cardiovascular/Aerobic, #3 – Stretching/Balance. Spiritual Faith Adds Years: 29% higher odds of survival for people who attend a house of worship or participate in activities held by religious organizations.
